Bulli Creek Clean Energy Project

Bulli Creek is a multi-stage development project of up to 2GW of large-scale Solar PV and BESS. The Project covers an area of 5,000ha and is located approximately 4km from the Powerlink Queensland Bulli Creek 330kV substation, which is the connection point in Queensland for the Queensland-NSW Interconnector. This prime location enhances both projects by capitalising on strong marginal loss factors, ensuring consistent supply and storage of renewable energy to bolster the resilience of the grid.

Genex’s strategy is to develop Stage One, Bulli Creek Solar Project (BCS) – a large-scale solar development with a capacity of up to 775MW as an immediate priority. BCS is set to become the largest grid connected solar farm in Australia once in operation. The final investment decision is expected in 2H CY2024.

Subsequent to the BCS, the second proposed stage is the Bulli Creek BESS Project (BCB) 400MW/1600MWh. Subsequent stages of solar and/or BESS are proposed to maximise the full 2GW capacity of the Project.
