Bulli Creek Clean Energy Park

Bulli Creek Clean Energy Park (Energy Park) is a multi-stage renewable energy development with planned capacity of up to 2.5GW, comprising solar photovoltaic generation and battery energy storage.

The Energy Park is located approximately 45km south-west of Millmerran in Queensland. Genex is currently progressing Bulli Creek Stage 1 (BC1) as the first stage of the development, combining solar and battery storage to deliver a flexible renewable energy project for the region.

The project is strategically located near existing transmission infrastructure, supporting its long-term role as a significant renewable energy and storage precinct in a key part of the Queensland grid.

About the Project

Bulli Creek Stage 1

Bulli Creek 1 is the proposed first stage of the Energy Park. BC1 is proposed to be located in the northern portion of the Energy Park, north of the Gore Highway. The project is proposed to comprise:

  • 300MW solar PV
  • 425MW / 1,700MWh BESS

BC1 has been designed as a hybrid solar and BESS to better respond to current electricity market conditions and support a staged pathway for the broader Bulli Creek development.

BC1 is targeting a final investment decision and commencement of construction in CY2028

BC1 Key Highlights
Land and Approvals Secured

Land tenure arrangements in place and existing local and Commonwealth approvals in place.

Strategic Location

Located near existing transmission infrastructure.

Project Sizing

300MW solar & 425MW/1700MWh BESS.

Local Employment and Procurement

The BC1 project will prioritise local content during construction and operations.

Reliable Renewable Energy

Generates, stores and dispatches renewable energy on demand during peak periods and provides key system strength to the grid.

Community Benefits

Genex is committed to maintaining strong relationships with the local community and delivering meaningful local outcomes as the Energy Park progresses. To support relationship building, Genex will be providing a suite of community benefits associated with the Energy Park.

A key community benefit is the unconditionally funding of up to $500,000 to go towards the redevelopment of a central community precinct located near the library in the centre of Millmerran, Queensland known as Domville Place.

Domville Place is currently under-utilised despite its prominent location within the town, the redevelopment will establish Domville Place as a focal gathering point for families, community groups and visitors to the region. Importantly, it will connect tourists with Millmerran’s local businesses, who will stop to enjoy the parkland.
