The K3-BESS is a dedicated energy storage project with a target capacity of 200MW and 800MWh. This configuration will further minimise environmental impact and contribute to improved energy reliability in the grid. The project will connect to the new 275kV transmission line recently built by Powerlink Queensland for the K2-Hydro Project.
With the integration of renewable energy generation with the pumped hydro and BESS energy storage facilities, the Kidston Clean Energy Hub represents a unique, multi-technology renewable energy precinct.
