775MW Bulli Creek Solar Project

Genex is advancing the Bulli Creek Clean Energy Park (Energy Park); a large-scale, multi-stage renewable energy project. The Energy Park covers 5,000 hectares and is located 125 kilometres southwest of Toowoomba, Queensland.

BCS-1 is a 775MW solar farm which will make up the first stage of the Energy Park. An offtake agreement is secured with Stanwell Corporation for 550MW of solar capacity which will allow Genex to proceed toward a final investment decision by late 2024.

The BCS-1 construction phase, beginning in early 2025, is expected to create up to 800 jobs. PCL Construction has been appointed as the preferred Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contractor and is responsible for the procurement, employment, and construction activities relating to BCS-1.

Workers Camp

Genex has submitted its application for Development Approval to establish a workers’ camp to accommodate staff within the Millmerran township. Pending the required approvals, the camp will be positioned north of the Millmerran Showground. Construction of the camp is anticipated to commence in H1 CY2025.

Genex is committed to fostering strong community connections by encouraging our entire team to actively support the local economy. When stationed at the Worker’s Camp, our team members will be encouraged to utilise the town’s facilities, shops, and services. By doing so, we aim to contribute to the economic vitality of the community, ensuring that our presence has a positive impact.

The Energy Park aligns with the Queensland Government’s Energy and Jobs Plan and supports the state’s renewable energy target of 70% by 2032.

The Energy Park Stages

The Energy Park is located approximately 45km south-west from the Millmerran township. Access to the Energy Park is proposed along the Gore Highway.
